Managing Large Tapes With Excel

This week I was able to finish the second video in my Excel for notes series: Managing Large Tapes with Excel

Typically when I receive a tape I do some analysis within that file to filter it down to the assets I am most interested in before putting them in my ROI calculator. As you probably know some tapes can have quite a large number of columns and rows and can be unwieldy to manage. In this video I go over some tips and hotkeys that can help you manipulate these spreadsheets faster. If you aren’t familiar with them, fill right and fill down are your friends….

Some of these techniques came in handy this week as I got a bid prepared on a group of 4 assets. To date I’ve been bidding on one-off assets and the rule of getting about 1 out of 10 bids accepted has held pretty true. Hopefully going after a group of assets makes it easier to get the pricing I need.

Next time I’ll have a longer newsletter on note pricing relative to other investment options, and why I think notes are a great deal despite some changes in market pricing.
