Its Mid-Year Already!

It’s hard to believe we are already at the half-way mark for 2019. Hopefully you’ll be able to take some time off and relax over the 4th of July holiday to get ready for the rest of the year. This is also a good time to look at the goals you set at the beginning of the year and see how you are doing, and see if there are any goals that are no longer relevant or ones that should be added.

My big goal was to close 60 notes over the course of the year. Right now I’m just over a third of the way there, but the fourth quarter has the most activity so I’m largely on track. A lot of asset managers will be on vacation over the next couple months so my primary focus for the summer will be to prepare for that fourth quarter and keep the current portfolio on running efficiently in the meantime. I’m working to position myself to take down a small pool later this year that will get me to the goal.

Another key goal for the year was to bring on some help. I now have a terrific assistant helping me part time which has freed me up to focus more on finding new deals. Recently I was also able to go on a cruise where I was offline for a week and she kept everything going while I was gone. Its great to be in a position now where I am able to do that.

For the second half the main goal I want to complete is getting a podcast launched. I’ve done some work on this but haven’t been able to bring it all together yet. My plan is to get that going over the summer.

As you are relaxing during this week, hopefully you can revisit your own goals and plans for 2019 and set yourself up to make the second half as productive as possible. If one your goals is to get involved in a note deal and haven’t done so yet, consider signing up for my preferred investor email list where I send out note deal opportunities periodically.
