| Part of any due diligence process involves looking up a property on Google Maps. If you are just looking at a handful of assets, then looking them up manually is no problem. However, I recently bid an entire tape with almost 50 assets, and looking them all up 1 by 1 would have taken way too much time. Fortunately Google Maps has a formula for creating links given the street address, city, state and zip code. You can then use Excel to create these links automatically. | It can be easy to make a typo or have something get off track if you are manually entering the formula in Excel, so here is the formula so you can copy and paste it: =HYPERLINK(“http://google.com/maps/place/”&A2&”,”&B2&”,”&C2&”,”&D2) Remember, this assumes:You are working in row 2cell A2 = street addresscell B2 = citycell C2 = statecell D2 = zip codeThen you just drag down to create the links for the other addresses.
