Google Maps Automation

Part of any due diligence process involves looking up a property on Google Maps. If you are just looking at a handful of assets, then looking them up manually is no problem. However, I recently bid an entire tape with almost 50 assets, and looking them all up 1 by 1 would have taken way too much time. Fortunately Google Maps has a formula for creating links given the street address, city, state and zip code. You can then use Excel to create these links automatically. The video below will show you how.

It can be easy to make a typo or have something get off track if you are manually entering the formula in Excel, so here is the formula so you can copy and paste it:

=HYPERLINK(“http://google.com/maps/place/”&A2&”,”&B2&”,”&C2&”,”&D2)

Remember, this assumes:You are working in row 2cell A2 = street addresscell B2 = citycell C2 = statecell D2 = zip codeThen you just drag down to create the links for the other addresses.

Hopefully that saves you time when going through tapes. If you want to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you see videos like this when I post them, you can get to it by clicking here: https://www.youtube.com/fusionnotes
